Counselors at MCMS are assigned by grade level and follow the students to their next grade. This allows students to stay with the same counselor both years and develop a relationship with their counselor. If there are concerns with a student's class, parents are asked to contact the teacher first. If there are still difficulties after a parent/ teacher conference, parents may then contact the counselor for further assistance.

Hello, my name is Andy McCardell and I am excited to be back for my 5th year here at Mifflin County Middle School. I grew up in Mercersburg, PA where I graduated from James Buchanan High School. From there I went to the Pennsylvania State University where I received my undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation and Human Services. I worked as a Camp Counselor in Mount Union and as a Therapeutic Staff Support in Chambersburg, PA. I went back to school and received a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Slippery Rock University. I worked at Southern Huntingdon County High School as the High School Counselor for a short period of time and then moved to York, PA where I was a Family Based Therapist until being hired here at MCSD. I am excited to continue my role in the school district and will work hard to help in any way I can for the students and their families.

Hi, my name is Jane Foor and I am excited to be back for my ninth year as a School Counselor at Mifflin County Middle School. Previously, I was a high school counselor, for eight years, at Indian Valley High School and then took time off to raise my children. I went to Penn State for my undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies and earned my Master's Degree at the University of Pittsburgh, in School Counseling. MCMS is a great school--it's a wonderful place to work and students love it here! I look forward to working with the students and families of MCMS. Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do to help your child be successful this year.
